SEXUAL ABUSE INTERVENTION PROGRAM
SEXUAL ABUSE INTERVENTION PROGRAM (SAIP)
Sexual Abuse Intervention Program (SAIP) is facilitated by our Registered Clinical Counselor, and combines treatment and prevention services for children and youth ages 3-18, with the goal of reducing traumatic impacts of sexual abuse on clients and their families. The approach is strengths-based, collaborative with other service providers and systems, client-led, and low-barrier. It offers mid-range counseling that implements a number of modalities and approaches, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) where appropriate.
For more information or to discuss a referral please contact us at 250-724-6166.
YOUTH WELLNESS COUNSELLING
Youth Wellness Counselling offers services to clients ages 10 - 21, and seeks to build capacity in the community to support young people experiencing situational distress. This is done through increasing access to support, harm reduction, and counselling. Utilizing elements of art therapy and the creative process, the Wellness counsellor promotes health and wellbeing, while cultivating resiliency and change.
Examples of situational stress includes academic stress, peer conflict, substance use, bullying, family discord, world events, death or loss of a loved one, and major life changes.
